The Bookkeeping Asset was founded by Martha Cressy, an experienced bookkeeping professional with more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry. During her career in the insurance agency, Martha realized how much work goes into managing the core accounting functions of an insurance agency and how many agents were missing out on key strategies for growth simply because they didn’t have time to manage their books or weren’t able to fully integrate their accounting system with the software they used for their business.
So, Martha set out on a mission to change that and help insurance agents finally take control of their books once and for all! Together with her team, Martha helps insurance agency owners and independent agents not only maintain compliance and have an easy tax season but also use their financial data to their advantage.

Hi, I’m Julie! I spent many years in other careers and through that, I always thought bookkeeping would be a good fit for me. The pandemic provided me the opportunity to launch a new career as a bookkeeper and I was lucky enough to meet Martha along the way. I love helping small business owners get or keep their books in order. It takes a huge weight off their shoulders to know their books are in good hands while allowing me to get my fix of organizing and keeping an eye on details.
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and love to spend time in nature whenever I can. If I’m not outdoors, you’ll find me at home cooking or planning/organizing my life and next adventures!
Hi, I’m Holli! I worked in the independent insurance industry as an account manager for almost a decade. I have a lot of respect for the hard work and time invested agents spend protecting their clients. I have seen the struggles agencies endure while managing people, operations and growing their book of business. Reducing the agency’s stress by helping them with their books is so rewarding. It is my desire to contribute to the team to the best of my ability.
I live in Mid Michigan. When I’m not spending time with my family and friends, I like to read, travel, and volunteer. I would love to continue to travel the world, foster kids and make an impact in peoples lives.

Discovery
We’ll meet virtually to talk about how your bookkeeping journey has gone so far, what concerns you are looking to address, and whether or not we’d be a great fit to work together.
Diagnostic
Next, you’ll provide access to your books for us to review. During this process, we’ll outline our findings and concerns and what needs to happen to get your books up to date. Using this information, we’ll create a customized proposal for services that meets your unique needs and overall business goals.
Onboard
Once you accept our proposal, the journey to clean and easy bookkeeping begins! We’ll immediately schedule an onboarding meeting where we’ll make the transition to working with us simple! On this call, we’ll set expectations and timelines, answer questions, provide a checklist of what’s next, and cover everything we need from you.
Clean Up & Catch Up
After you’ve completed your onboarding and provided access to your software, we’ll get right to work! Expect to answer a few questions through our client portal during this time to ensure we get everything established in a timely manner.

Now that your clean up process is complete, we’ll set the stage for your business to grow and thrive! That means setting up a totally unique and optimized bookkeeping process for your business, providing continuous, ongoing support, and creating helpful videos reviewing and analyzing your business after every period.
